Founded in 1983, Dubai Duty Free recorded first-year sales of US$20 million and has grown into one of the biggest travel retail operator in the world.
Dubai Duty Free celebrated its 38th anniversary on December 20th and recorded an annual sale of Dhs3.563 billion or US$976 million.
As part of its ongoing development of its retail offer both in Dubai International Airport and at Al Maktoum International Airport with a total retail area of over 40,000 square meters, Dubai Duty Free opened a Forecourt Public Shop in Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport. The retailer also opened three luxury boutiques including a Christian Dior boutique in Concourse A and B and a Louis Vuitton shop in Concourse B.
Now employing over 3,900 people, the operation has consistently raised the benchmark for airport retailing and it continues to grow.
